The Spotlight on Hotel de Paris Montreal

Charming Historic Stay in Montreal’s Vibrant Latin Quarter

Classic and full of character, Hotel de Paris Montreal sits in a beautifully preserved century-old manor in the heart of the city’s lively Latin Quarter. With individually decorated rooms and a laid-back vibe, this boutique-style hotel blends vintage charm with modern comfort. You'll be within walking distance to Montreal’s buzzing nightlife, eclectic restaurants, and several top music venues—ideal for an unforgettable concert weekend.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is a walkable distance to several concert venues and entertainment hotspots like St. Denis Street and the Quartier des Spectacles. After the show, you’ll appreciate being close enough to stroll home without worrying about cabs or crowded late-night transit. While the hotel’s central location means you’re right in the action, reviewers often praise it as being surprisingly quiet at night. The 24-hour front desk is a bonus for late arrivals or midnight snack inquiries, and the 3:00 PM check-in gives you time to explore before heading out for the show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to enjoy a vibrant neighborhood together
  • Solo travelers catching a legendary act in town
  • Couples planning a romantic music-filled weekend
  • Fans needing a peaceful night after a loud venue
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who don’t want to sacrifice location

Food and Drink Options

Start your day (even a late one) with a free continental breakfast included in your stay. While there’s no on-site restaurant for late-night dining, the hotel’s location means you’re steps away from cafés, pizzerias, and 24-hour eateries. The Latin Quarter is packed with options for post-show bites, and you can always check in with the friendly front desk for local recommendations.

Nightlife Options

The hotel is just around the corner from buzzing bars and lounges on St. Denis Street, making it easy to keep the night going after the encore. While there’s no bar on-site, the seasonal outdoor terrace is a great place to unwind with a drink before heading out, and you’re never more than a few minutes from live music, late-night cocktails, or cozy pubs.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s location, character, and affordability. Many reviews highlight the friendly staff, clean rooms, and how it’s “perfect for exploring the city on foot.” The unique, individually decorated rooms get high marks for charm, and the building’s historic architecture adds a Parisian touch that many find enchanting.

Areas for Improvement

Be prepared to carry your bags, as the hotel does not have elevators due to its historic structure. Some rooms are on the smaller side, and the vintage decor may not be to everyone’s taste. But if you’re here for the music and the city’s energy, these quirks are easily overlooked.

The Bottom Line

Hotel de Paris Montreal is a budget-friendly, character-filled base for concert-goers who want to stay in the heart of the action without sacrificing charm or convenience.

Poor

Liked: Location
Disliked: The room booked for five people is tiny congested with three beds in one room. How on earth a hotel books such a tiny room for a five people family! The shower cubicle and the bath are so much tiny that you can't move from one side to the other. The breakfast was also lousy. Overall I hated my stay for that single night. I won't advise a family to book in that hotel.

Worse hotel selection I've ever...

Liked: Poor menu
Disliked: There no elevator, poor housekeeping, parking for only 2 cars. The first night there were no hot water. The shower was extremely small. Poor exterior appearance. Not recommended.

Overpriced and filthy. Do not...

Liked: The building is crumbling, there are cracks on the steps up to the entrance, the upholstery on the chairs is worn out at reception and no staff member ever greeted me with a smile or a friendly hello when I entered the hotel. I was always met with silence. So weird. Im struggling to find a thing I liked about the property. The water tap at reception has cold water. That was nice.
Disliked: My room was never cleaned once in a three night stay. Towels never changed. Coffee never replenished. Bin never emptied. One of my windows was broken and replaced with broken plastic and tape. The window ledge was filthy and cracked. The room was so depressing. Breakfast was awful.

Very disappointing stay that is...

Liked: Location is good. close to the train station, restaurants and other interesting places
Disliked: A lot of things. Photos are incorrect and paint a much better image of what the place actually looks like. The room we got was not in any of the photos and turned out to be much much smaller than depicted. Its definitely not for two people. Our access card suddenly stopped working and we had to wait for 15 minutes outside knocking to get someone to let us in, in the end another customer opened the hotel door for us. No one was at the reception which is right next to the door and no one answered the help number. There was no hot water for almost 16 hours. We put a marker on the door to have the room refreshed but no one did anything for more than 24 hours. Breakfast was mediocre to say the least.Ac is super loud and hardly cools the room while the rooms feel a bit damp. The hotel carpet is not clean. After complaining multiple times the staff gave us a larger room but we were already on our last night.
