Good location; not 5 stars

Liked: The location is great - in the middle of the 9th and walking distance from Gare Du Nord, and to metro stations.Staff was friendly and bed was comfortable.The aircon was strong. Spacious enough.
Disliked: The hotel has seen better days in the past. It’s definitely not a 5 star hotel - my room was facing a mega dark courtyard and despite the sun was shining it felt like night time. The bathroom is falling apart - the paint around the shower was coming off due to humidity and lack of maintenance. One of the tiles on the floor was loose and water trapped underneath. Similar situation around the sink - all felt unkept and not well maintained.Breakfast wasn’t bad but also not great.In general it seemed that the hotel staff or who ever is responsible was lacking the eye for detail and finesse. 5 star expectations were not fulfilled.

An outstanding and relaxing stay

Liked: The room was fantastic with lots of space. The Japanese bathroom was outstanding with a very restful bath to soak in for an hour or so with an apero. The madeleines presented were a lovely touch. The bedroom was very clique with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was extremely delicious with a wide variety of choices. On the whole the staff were very helpful and eager to please.
Disliked: The check in was slightly confusing and I was a bit disappointed that the bath was not run before I came as I specifically requested it by email. It was slightly disappointing that different types of bath soaks were not available at the hotel as advertised in YouTube videos. Some of the command of English of some staff members was not I would expect at a 5 star rated hotel.
