Not quiet and relaxing but...

Liked: Location was really good and the owner was very nice.
Disliked: The room I stayed in was not that clean the bed sheets had a yellow looking stain on them. The room sound proofing was awful. I could hear conversations from the room next to me. If the people above dropped something or moved I could hear that. My room was right by the stairwell and you could hear when people went up and down and come into their rooms. Overall I would recommend if you are coming in late and leaving early

Liked: the bathroom was lovely, large shower and mirror with draws - very clean. good comfy bed and tv we could log into netflix which was good. huge window that opened wide which was nice on a night whilst sitting on the chairs with the marble table, everything you needed really, especially for the price. staff were nice just didn’t see them much. room got cleaned everyday, very good location - many bars restaurants fast food etc nearby, metro 1 min away, nothing majorly bad to say at all. very shocked at how clean and big the rooms were for the price
Disliked: the fridge leaked a tiny bit when we opened it but just wiped it up with the towels as they got cleaned everyday anyway, nothing we didn’t like but there’s only 1 charging point near the bed like on one side which made it hard to charge 2 phones on a night but we survived no big deal. the place does shut at 1am sharp - for us it locked early but you get given the code for the door to be unlocked when u arrive anyway.

Liked: The location is great and there was a small frigo. The kindness of the people in reception. They kept my luggage for a couple of hours.
Disliked: Since in europe the main floor is 0, there's a lot of stairs to climb. Also, the fan helps but Paris is really hot this days.

Dirty and run down hotel...

Liked: The placement is nice. Ménilmontant is a great area with lots of young people and social life. Furthermore, the hotel is very close to several metro stations making it easy to use public transport for getting around.
Disliked: When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by staff to wait "just one minute" to check in. 25 minutes later the receptionist came back to check me in. That is unacceptable as I had already communicated when I would arrive days prior. Furthermore, the hotel is very run down and dirty. The floor in my room was filled with sand and dust when I arrived and the bathrooms smelled really bad (think moldy). Towels, pillow cases etc. had a lot of brown spots on them. The bathroom seemed newly renovated, which was nice, but the shower would flood the entire bathroom floor due to bad drainage.
