Liked: Calvin the receptionist is helpful and friendly. Very professional as well.

Useful for an overnight stay

Liked: An overnight stay. The hotel is being modernised but this didn't have any effect on my stay. Viery friendly owner who upgraded my single room as he said a double bed would be more comfortable. A simple room but excellent value given the location, a couple of minutes form Gare de l'Est station. Complimentary breakfast was very welcome. Plenty of bars, restos and cafes nearby .

Liked: The room was clean
Disliked: During my stay refurbishment works were performed. I could not rest not even 15 mins. as lots of noises were on the corridor. The elevator did not work and from the reception I was told that the spare part will come "tomorrow"

Exceptional

Will be a nice hotel...

Liked: The best parts of this room were the friendly staff, the location, and the super-cold air conditioning. (It was 96 degrees in Paris that day.) I think this will be a great little hotel once the construction is complete.
Disliked: There was construction, which meant that the elevator didn't work and the stairs are very tight and spiral. To the credit of the hotel, they would have had someone carry up our bags but it would have been a long wait and we could not wait. The main issue was the construction — there was literally someone using a jackhammer on the other side of the wall to our room. It was so loud that it was impossible to talk over and the entire room shook. We basically just changed clothes and left for the day to get away from the noise.
