Spoilt my holiday,other 3 star...

Liked: Absolutely nothing!!
Disliked: One old lift,a relic from the past to service 5 floors plus cleaning staff.No air-conditioning, no fridge, no water. Breakfast pitiful!!!I was told by reception "Madam" this is an old Hotel in the old City!!Oh really I replied, well I live in the 21st Century and we do have fridges, air-conditioning, and hairdryers work!! So maybe a refurbishment is in order!!

What could have been a...

Liked: Great location, friendly and very helpful staff, and everything clean.
Disliked: The pillows were not very comfortable and alternatives were not really available -- the staff did their best with what was around but in a 4* HOTEL I EXPECT TO BE OFFERED A PILLOW that's comfortable for ME -- i.e. there ought to be a wide choice.The room was very small. The air-con was "not available" BECAUSE IT WAS APRIL!! So I'm not allowed to be too hot in April... stupid hotel rule -- as a consequence we opened the window to get some fresh air. That let in a mosquito that then kept me awake all night -- horrible. I trapped it in the bathroom eventually, but dark tiling there meant I couldn't see it in there and so wasn't sure until the morning that it was confined. Full marks to hotel staff when I reported it next day -- they eliminated the mosquito without leaving the room smelling of pesticide -- I forgot to ask what weapon they used!No flannels -- 4* hotel??No tissues??No hair-conditioner until day 3.No 5V USB / typeC bedside power ports.So plenty of minor irritations which could all have been fixed by the hotel for very little cost -- just some management common sense and thought.What could have been a perfect 4-night stay was spoiled by multiple mostly-minor inconveniences -- and the poor pillows a major issue because it seriously affected our sleep.
