A touch of history
Liked: The Hotel Congress is a historic building in Tucson. It has a restaurant and more than one bar. It is nearly as it was in the 1930s and 40s. It was a haunt of John Dillinger and his gang stayed there. The food was incredible. There is a small bar located off of the lobby that I really liked. It also has a larger bar with a stage and room for dancing. It often has live music. The rooms are small and furnished exactly like they were in its heyday. If you want a taste of yesteryear, stay at the Hotel Congress.
Disliked: The bathrooms in the guest rooms are authentic to the period. That means small and cramped. The bed we had each time we stayed there squeaked a lot, although we found that amusing.

Liked: Very good
Disliked: It was a nice location for our stay, walked across the street to The Rialto for our concert, I was told it would be loud outside and it was till 2am then it stopped, other than not much sleep it was a good stay

Weekend stay was a party...
Liked: Great location in downtown Tucson and lots of action. We stayed Friday and Saturday night. It was loud, packed in the bars and lobbies, and lots of fun. If you do not plan to be part of the noise, this is not the hotel for you. Music from the clubs plays until 2am sharp. We were part of the action so we loved it but just bear in mind.
Disliked: This is a historic hotel. As such it doesn't have the same comforts that you might find at the Marriott down the street. The rooms are small, the beds are small, the bathroom and shower are small. I am over 6ft so felt a little cramped. But since it was intended as a romantic weekend with my partner, the lack of space was fine with us. We stayed in a garden room so had access to the lounge in the picture.
