Good

Liked: Clean and comfortable rooms and nice decor.
Disliked: We had booked for breakfast. Went down and stood fir 10 min before being told they were understaffed and it would be a considerable wait for food. We're told to take a seat. There were no seats to take! People were sitting at dirty, uncleared tables waiting for service. After another 5 min wait, it was clear no seats were going to be avaliable and no tables were being cleared. This resulted in us leaving and no breakfast. There was no one at reception to discuss this with as the receptionist was serving breakfast. This was disappointing!

Disappointing stay - I would...

Liked: Good location.Public areas were reasonably nice.
Disliked: I had a standard double room and it was very small - not worth £115. I wish I’d stayed in the The Stirling Highland Hotel next door for £30 less.In addition, massively understaffed and the staff that are there are not sufficiently experienced. An older man was watching a football game loudly on his phone in the bar and the bartender did nothing about it. I don’t expect that in a hotel where I want to relax.Breakfast was a joke with tiny plates and glasses provided to limit what people ate and that was almost irrelevant as nothing was being replenished as only one lovely young man was attempting to deal with the entire dining room. It is probably the poorest service and offerings that I’ve ever seen at a hotel breakfast - and that’s management responsibility, not to single person trying to deal with the impossible. One of my friends went to a local cafe in disgust and most of the rest of us remained unsatisfied.

Have stayed in hundreds of...

Liked: Housekeeping person was really helpful
Disliked: Breakfast was absolutely appalling - positively inedible. Luggage surcharge!Heating inoperableFire door wedged open - and if we removed the wedge it would be reinstated immediately Breakfast had to be run by one young man who did his best but had to check off residents; take hot food orders; deliver hot food orders; top up coffee; top up fruit juice; top up butter; etc etc. almost everything ran out. Food quality was diabolical.

Nice hotel, need to rethink...

Liked: Idyllic location and view, staff are super-polite and helpful.
Disliked: Parking used to be included, now feels a bit of a rip off at £15 per day, and is easy to miss when booking. Parking is controlled by a private company with a camera system so no doubt lots of customers have received surprise parking fines. Prepare to receive loads of emails offering upgrades.
