Great value for the price!...

Liked: Great location, several minutes to zocalo. The neighborhood is not fancy area, but lively.
Disliked: Not fancy but there are everything we need and very clean. Everyday they clean the room and give us new towels, bottle of water. Good and reasonable restaurant for breakfast.

Sometimes there are demonstrations or...

Liked: The beds are comfortable. The cleaning staff and doormen are nice and do a good job.
Disliked: Unless breakfast is included in your booking booking, where you have the choice of an all inclusive breakfast, you have to pay for breakfast items a la carte. Also, unless you eat more than 100 pesos worth of food, you have to pay in cash rather than by credit card.

Avoid this terrible hotel!

Liked: I really recommend to find another hotel!
Disliked: Avoid this terrible hotel! It is a mystery how Hotel Castropol got so many positive reviews – maybe they have bought them? Because this hotel is really bad for several reasons:1.The beds are very uncomfortable – and especially the pillows are terrible. It’s very difficult to get a good sleep here.2.There is a lot of noise – no sound insulation – so you will have to sleep with earplugs.3.There is no air-conditioning – it’s not possible to regulate the temperature in the room.4.The reception staff is very unfriendly, some of them are downright rude. Don’t expect them to speak English, being helpful or attentive in any way! 5.If you haven’t included breakfast in your booking, it’s not possible to add it, when you are at the hotel. It’s simply not possible to pay for a standard breakfast. When I learned about the standard of this hotel, I’m actually glad that I didn’t book with breakfast.6.There is only one elevator, and it’s extremely slow, so you will need a good deal of patience. This hotel is absolutely not worth your money, so to avoid disappointment I really recommend to find another hotel! The hotel answers, that I have been rude. This is not true. That they are lying about one of their guests just shows that they are not able to give a good answer to a critical review. Actually their answer is quite revealing and says everything about this hotel.
