Hotel Carlton's Montmartre

The terrace is a must!...

Liked: The Terrace! Amazing. And the staff fabulous. The room and bed super comfortable.
Disliked: The bathroom a little tight and maybe needs some update.

Liked: Very cool hotel, dining and breakfast was amazing.
Disliked: Didn’t feel very secure. Very dark inside. Air vents smelled when air was turned on, no fans in the bathroom.

Awesome location and wonderful view!

Liked: So many wonderful cafes and shops in the neighborhood.
Disliked: The hall walking back to the elevator was super dark. Why? This could be a hazard for some elder folk. Also it was odd that the key card was required to power the electricity in the room.

Disliked: A pretty terrible weekend stay.We booked a Chambre Superieure, which is a larger (20m2) and more expensive room. But when we checked in the room felt extremely small. I asked reception and they said we were in an 18m2 room but is was indeed a Superieure. I wasn’t convinced and felt we had just been put in a classic room.On the second night our air-con was making sporadic engine sounds each minute and we could not sleep. It was also 28 degrees in Paris! After persevering with the noise, at 1am I eventually resorted to getting out of bed to visit reception. They listened to the noise and asked us if we could manage to sleep in the room and I said it was too disturbing.We then had to wait while they found us an alternative room and they warned us it would be a smaller room, as if we were simply scheming to try and get a room upgrade. We clarified we did not mind about room size, but that we just wanted to sleep in a quiet room. Eventually we were moved to a much nicer and larger room, one I’m inclined to believe was a Chambre Superieure (which we should have been in all along).Not impressed with the original room, the disturbed nights sleep, or packing up everything to move rooms.

Basics ok, rude, unfriendly staff...

Liked: The basics were good, room clean, breakfast excellent. Bar staff very rude though and spoilt the experience. Won’t be booking here again.
Disliked: Bar staff very disrespectful and discourteous, just laughed at us when we raised a problem. Plenty of better hotels in Paris with friendlier staff. Don’t bother with this one.

Not worth the money. Far...

Liked: The hotel is located in a great part of Paris. Surrounded by wonderful bars restaurants and cafes
Disliked: We requested to move after the first night due to excessive noise from the room next door (not the hotels fault) however the aircon in the room we moved to stopped working in the night. We asked for it to be repaired and it was working when we returned only to have it stop again the second night. This was during a heat wave in Paris.When we shared our feedback we were told it was checked and working, essentially accusing us of being wrong. The turn over service lacked attention to detail with things being missed and forgotten.For the cost of this hotel, I would expect a far better level or service without being made to feel like we were an inconvenience.Such a disappointing experience and from all my travels to Paris, I can certainly say this was the worst
