Disliked: No toiletries in the room apart from bulk shower gel and hand wash, no mini bar or refrigerator

A delightful stay in a...

Liked: We arrived in Lille by Eurostar and were able to easily walk to the Hotel Carlton, despite rather large and heavy suitcases. The hotel is very well situated for exploring Lille's Old Town on foot and there are lots of restaurants within very easy reach. The hotel is elegant and our room was a very good size. The bed was comfortable (though perhaps a little firmer than we like), there was a good bathoom with a very generously sized bath and an over-bath shower. The toilet was sited in a separate cubicle. The room also had a small minibar. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff were friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our (brief) stay.
Disliked: The only slight problem was that there is no screen around the over-bath shower, which was very effective, and therefore tended to spray everything in site, if one was not very careful. There is a seat in the bath at the furthest point from the rest of the room, but one has to stand up at some point and this could be a bit of a problem.

Exceptional

Liked: Love this property, we stay everytime we visit Lille. Decor is lovely, great reception/lounge areas & top level bar is good for drinks before or after an evening out. Central location (1 min walk to all shops, restaurants and main square).
Disliked: Nothing it’s great
