Hotel Carillon

It was the worst hotel...

Disliked: Staff struggeling with the booking system or absent. Stairway upstairs narrow and extremely steep. Exit to street difficult due to cafe visitors. Room tiny: shower and toilet in in one (1 sqm), with poor light and switch via a very dirty cord (ugh), no sink. Ventilation there not working. One bed reaching under sink in room, so impossible to stay at sink. Sink dirty, water draining slowly. Room extremly hot, no air condition, window disfunctional (impossible to close firmly), with very noisy city 'Grote Markt' below. Room service opening curtain during day so room in full sunlight got even hotter - impossible to sleep at night. Lots of imflamable material stored in hallway, possible fire exit on same floor locked, no smoke detector in room.

Great Location Small Room

Liked: The views from the room. Very central location.
Disliked: Leaky toilet. No remote (found under the bed on my second night). No lift. Quite expensive for what you get. Room was small.

Exceptional

Liked: The staff was very friendly at both check-in and check out. The room was very nice and clean! Bed was comfy! And i really liked those little sachets of hair conditioners :)

Overpriced for room Quality and...

Liked: Good Location
Disliked: Stained wallpaper, Faulty electricity, Mold on Shower ceiling, Nonchalant Staff. Everything in the room was unplugged and all of the lights flickered when turned on. Made sure to unplug everything before I left for of fear of fire hazard.The noise level was also extreme due to the location- not something the hotel has control over but still affects the quality.No staff on-site for check out, and no prior instructions were given on check-out procedure.

Fantastic Value for Money and...

Liked: The location was stunning! So easy from the train station, lovely bar and cafe downstairs, clean and spacious rooms upstairs and the staff were lovely!
Disliked: Don’t listen to the bad reviews here. It was a very basic room but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and the fan was a godsend Yes the stairs are very steep but that is to be expected in this part of the world
