I recommend this hotel and...
Liked: Beautiful restored building with history and ecological focus. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The library room and bar area hosted a daily tea time for guests that was unexpected, relaxing and lively. The whole experience was excellent.
Disliked: Nothing I didn’t like. It does not have a pool or gym if that’s important to you but did not affect our plans at all.

Very nice stay
Liked: Hotel Britannia Art Deco Lisbon HeritageAs I write this review from our Lisbon hotel, I will share the good and the bad. However, the good far outweighed the bad. I just want others to be aware of the negative aspects in case it is something that would bother them. Pros—This hotel is a beautiful boutique, smaller hotel, located in a great neighborhood. The street it is on is behind the lovely designer shops. There are several cafes and restaurants nearby. We felt very safe walking around, even in the evenings. I recommend this area for your stay. The room itself is huge with old world style and antique furniture. The style is moderately art deco, but not overwhelming. There was an elevator, a must for old hotels in Europe! The floors were marble and very beautiful. It was very quiet and we never heard anyone coming or going, no doors slamming, etc. The blackout drapes were incredible. A pretty decanter of port wine in the room was complimentary, as was the water in the minifridge. They provided bathrobes and slippers. Also, they offered USB ports by the bedside and a charging cube on the desk. Very handy, even though we travel with our own. The bed was huge, I believe it was 2 American double beds pushed together. It was much larger than the normal two twins together. How they found sheets is a mystery. The bed was hard for my taste, but my husband loved it. The bathroom had huge bath sheets and a huge tub and shower combination. The tub was a little high for me, at 5’3”, I had to hold on to the wall to step up! The water pressure was tremendous, and there were no complaints with the bathroom. Nice shampoo and bath soap are provided. The employees at this hotel were the nicest I’ve ever encountered. They were very helpful and kind, always offering to hold open doors, make reservations, and assist in any way. I was very impressed.
Disliked: I promised to share the good and bad, so here are some things I would like to see changed in the hotel. Offer a makeup mirror for women! We travel, too, and we love it when the hotels provide one for us! There was only a tea kettle in the room. Provided were instant coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Portugal has some of the best coffee; there wasn’t even a coffee maker with real coffee in the room. Big mistake! I choose my hotels based on coffee makers! I missed this in the hotel description. Otherwise, I would not have booked them. I don’t want to make a big deal over this one thing, especially if you aren’t a coffee drinker. We are though. So, yes, it would have made a difference for us when booking this hotel. AC is important to Americans, and it’s something we are used to and look for in the hotel description. It does say they have AC. Lastly, the AC in the room was not working well at all. We had to keep our window open, and it was very warm and humid for April. It made for warm, sweaty nights. Here is my review. I hope it helps you make your decision when booking rooms in Lisbon. Read the fine print to get precisely what you are looking for.
