Disliked: Absolutely Terrible – Avoid at All CostsI rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled after staying at this disaster of a hotel in Paris. Where do I begin? The room was unbearably hot — they claim to have air conditioning, but don’t fall for that lie. The “AC” is more of a decorative feature than a functioning system. To get any airflow at all, we had to open the window… which faced a very busy street. The noise made it nearly impossible to sleep.Speaking of sleep, the beds were awful. Lumpy, thin mattresses that felt more like camping pads than actual beds. I’ve slept better on airport floors.When we brought up these issues with the management, we were met with the kind of arrogance and condescension that perfectly embodies every frustrating cliché about the French. Dismissive attitudes, eye-rolls, and a complete unwillingness to help — it was less “customer service” and more an exercise in passive-aggressive indifference. If you’ve ever wondered why some travelers complain about dealing with the French, this place will answer all your questions in one go.

Good location

Liked: We loved the location of the property. Easy walking distance to many great places to eat and also easy access to good coffee and nearby metro station. We particularly enjoyed exploring Oberkampf. Staff were accommodating- allowing us to store luggage and keep food in their freezer after check out as weather was 32 degrees and we were worried the food would melt.
Disliked: Room was smaller than expected and it was a bit difficult to have luggage open with sufficient space to pack comfortably. Note no freeze inside the room- only a drinks fridge.

Liked: The staff at the front desk were very sociable, helpful, and warm. The hotel is very clean throughout, and the bathroom and toilet facilites were spotless. In addition, the building is very centrally located, with lots of great traiteurs, cafes, and restaurants nearby. A short walk takes you to Metro line 3; lots of places you'd want to see are on it. The Metro stop is Parmentier. Not too onerous to drag a suitcase there ....
Disliked: The shower had no lip on its basin. I don't take long showers, but the floor became completely flooded (as far as the bed) requiring mop-up.

Enjoyable despite the issues above.

Liked: Staff were very helpful and friendly
Disliked: Would have been better to supply a non-slip mat for the bath/shower especially as they looked newly refurbished. Also handles to grip onto as the bath was quite high to climb into and awkward. Single beds were quite narrow and there was little space to manoeuvre in the room. Hanging space was restricted by coffee machine and kettle.

Disliked: Bathroom photos were not clear. The bathroom only had a glass door that didn’t shut properly and without a handle, making it impossible to have privacy when using the bathroom.
