Cute little hotel with friendly...

Liked: Very friendly stuff, nice and pleasant atmosphere, great family style breakfast, free candies, coffee and water bottles at the reception.
Disliked: Room could be a bit bigger, it’s quite cute though for a short stay

Hotel well located, but should...

Liked: The hotel was well located, close to the subway station. I had a quiet room, but probably because it faced the inner courtyard. The coffee machine in the room was a nice touch.
Disliked: The carpet was very dirty, hygiene standards are below what travelers from around the world may expect. Room size and customer service also do not meet the standards expected of a 4* hotel. Unsurprising for Paris.

A great Paris hotel for...

Liked: You will find very friendly staff at Hotel Aulivia Opéra. The room was perfect for our needs, with two twin beds. Do not expect large spaces in a Paris city hotel room and you will be a much happier person! Location is central for ourbplans with great food (Jah Jah) nearby and very close to Gare du Nord. HAO held our bags before and after check-in. Rent a Velíb right outside the door!

Nice! But scary….

Liked: Very nice!
Disliked: Shower was hard to get in and out of. Almost fell a lot of times and my friend too.

Pleasant

Liked: Location is lively, lots of places to eat and drink. Hotel is in need of TLC - it has what you need ie a bed, a bathroom and a kettle, but does feel basic.
Disliked: The area is really vibrant but there were few things which felt uncomfortable though, namely men harassing women outside hair salons (touting for business) which was kinda odd.

Bad

Disliked: We had a nightmare experience here, our money, a significant amount of money was stolen from our suitcase whilst here and we had no real support from the hotel other than ‘it’s our liability’.Rooms are also tiny you can’t even move in them. It’s safer and better off getting as Airbnb.

Superb

Liked: For being Paris on a budget trip, this was superb! Very small (but what can you expect), helpful staff and a great breakfast that we were treated to for some reason. We wanted to stay close to Gare de l’est, metro was a bit away. The area might not be the nicest but the hotel was fantastic; we could fill up our water bottles, there were juices and sweets and the breakfast was organic and locally produced. Warmly recommend!
