The Spotlight on Hotel Arts

Chic Downtown Escape Steps from Calgary's Music Scene

Modern and artsy, Hotel Arts sits right in the heart of Calgary’s vibrant downtown. With sleek décor, a year-round outdoor pool (complete with a retractable roof), and an upscale yet relaxed vibe, this hotel is ideal for those who want to mix music with a little luxury. It’s less than a mile from the Calgary Stampede grounds, making it a top pick for show nights or festival weekends.

Rooms come with thoughtful touches like Keurig coffee machines, Skoah bath amenities, and USB power stations — perfect for recharging you and your phone after a night out. You’ll also find free WiFi, a fitness center, and complimentary bike rentals to explore the city between sets.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a 10-minute walk from major venues like the Saddledome, with convenient access to late-night transport and rideshares. After the encore, the atmosphere back at Hotel Arts is relaxed — not rowdy — making it a great place to wind down. The 3 p.m. check-in gives you time to settle in before the show, and while the 11 a.m. checkout is standard, the staff often accommodate requests for a little extra sleep-in time.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a stylish base downtown
- Solo travelers catching a bucket-list act
- Couples turning a show into a weekend getaway
- Fans who want a quieter, comfortable retreat after the show
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want boutique vibes

Food and Drink Options

Hotel Arts is home to two fantastic on-site spots: Yellow Door Bistro serves up creative comfort food (with brunch that hits just right the morning after), and Freestyle Social Club offers casual bites and cocktails. While there's no 24/7 room service, the surrounding downtown area is packed with late-night dining options just a short walk away.

Nightlife Options

You're surrounded by Calgary’s bustling nightlife — from live music bars to craft cocktail lounges. The hotel bar itself is a great place to start your night with local brews or a signature drink before heading out to nearby clubs and venues.

What People Say

Guests love the stylish design, friendly staff, and convenient location. Many mention the pool as a highlight, especially during warmer months. Reviewers also appreciate the thoughtful amenities and modern touches in the rooms, making it a comfortable and memorable stay.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that on busy weekends, noise can travel from the pool area to nearby rooms — so if you're a light sleeper, request a room away from the courtyard. Parking is available but comes at an extra cost, so budget accordingly.

The Bottom Line

Hotel Arts is a stylish and centrally located stay that hits all the right notes for concert-goers looking for comfort, convenience, and a little flair.

Not worth the money, stay...

Liked: Comfortable bed, clean, and location was great
Disliked: Rooms are dated. One of the selling features was the pool and lounge area however tikes had to be booked and unfortunately there was no availability. Having a balcony with a view of the city was claimed however it was a view of a building being demolished. While this is nobody’s fault, I feel like guests should have been made aware. The elevator from the parade was out of order, again a heads up would have been nice. It was hard to get any sort of customer service from any of the staff. The lounge staff completely ignored us until we got up and left.Absolutely not worth the money. Stay somewhere else

Good front desk people -...

Liked: The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The. loan of a bicycle was great! I had a wonderful day and was really able to get around and see a lot of Calgary. The water pressure in the shower was really great! The bathtub was super spacious too
Disliked: While waiting for my room to be ready, I ordered a cappuccino and the cup was half filled with foam. I tasted it and the waitress had brought it to me without putting the coffee in first. My room had a handprint of smeared makeup on the bathroom door when I checked in. The Keurig coffee pods were undrinkable. Fortunately, Starbuck's was on the corner. The gym wasn't nice at all.
