Liked: Sushi restaurant & bar were excellent.
Disliked: Shower in rm 214 needs an upgrade.

On the expensive side but...

Liked: Good location next to Arcata Plaza instead of out on a soulless strip.
Disliked: Homeless people sometimes harassed us as we came and went. One had a medical emergency that required a police officer to run to help.

Clean, complete and very dog...

Liked: Location close to restaurants, comfortable and friendly staff. I have stayed here many times in the past always after camping and Hotel Arcata almost feels like home. Wonderful to have a place that allows dogs.
Disliked: I don’t have any issues with the property.

Business meeting mixed with pleasure...

Liked: This charming historic hotel is centrally located with great walkability to restaurants and is a great place from which to explore Humboldt County’s coastline, rivers and redwoods.
Disliked: Although I love and value the preserved history, the building needs certain modernizations and insulation. Sound transfers easily between walls and doors. The bathroom shower is a particular challenge to use with no where but a tiny soap dish to put toiletries. It’s difficult to get in and out of and needs hooks to access towels from the shower. There was also no hair dryer and the pedestal sink needs an additional place to put toiletries. Like many in cities these days and at colleges without adequate housing, homelessness is an evident challenge. However, the people sleeping in the park didn’t feel threatening, just without a place to stay.
