Hotel Anthracite blends small-town charm with modern amenities in Carbondale’s historic district. This stylish hotel is just steps from the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail and minutes from local music spots. With comfortable rooms, a welcoming vibe, and thoughtful extras like free Wi-Fi and continental breakfast, it’s an ideal base for your concert getaway.
Concert fans appreciate the central location—you can walk to local venues or hop in a quick ride to others nearby. After a late show, return to a peaceful night’s sleep thanks to the hotel’s quiet surroundings and well-insulated rooms. The 24-hour front desk and covered parking make late check-ins a breeze, and the laid-back atmosphere is perfect for post-show wind-downs.
The on-site Gravity Restaurant & Bar offers tasty a la carte meals, and there are plenty of walkable dining options within 0.6 miles. While full 24/7 room service isn't offered, the hotel’s continental breakfast is a welcome perk after a late night. Vending machines and a relaxed bar area make grabbing a bite or drink easy at any hour.
While the hotel itself keeps things calm, you’re close to local bars and lounges that carry the vibe into the night. The on-site bar is a great spot to grab a nightcap or toast to a great show with local craft drinks.
There’s no traditional room service menu late at night, so night owls may want to plan ahead. Some guests have noted that weekend dining hours can be limited—check ahead if you're arriving late. And while there's no on-site live music, the peaceful setting makes up for it.
With its walkable location, relaxed vibe, and thoughtful amenities, Hotel Anthracite is a cozy and convenient home base for concert-goers exploring Carbondale’s music scene.

Excellent, well-kept, well-run hotel.
Liked: Large room, very comfortable bed, very clean bathroom. Also good desk staff, convenient elevator, nice breakfast buffer included. Very unique coal- theme decor. By-gone era. We have stayed here multiple times.

Warm oasis on South Main...
Liked: The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the rooms were well maintained, clean, bright and comfortable. The location was perfect for our needs and the staff was phenomenal. The continental breakfast was fresh and tasty. A hidden gem in the center of Carbondale. Plenty of free parking, handicapped accessible and covered.

Good clean hotel, but sometimes...
Liked: Location perfect for our visits to family. Manager was especially helpful, friendly. Room very clean.
Disliked: Breakfast was just awful. Stale/thawed pastries.”omelet” fresh made wasn’t good at all. Better not to offer free breakfast than to give guests this awful food.We don’t like these”new type” elevated beds. I am 79, husband 84, both with arthritis, and have challenges getting in and out of bed. Almost dangerous for us. No phone in room….how do we call in an emergency if we do t have cell phones? Why charge for resort fee when there are no resort amenities? Hotel charges are dramatically different during the year, during the week, online. Some times they are outrageous for a sleepy, small town hotel.
