Unique stay at Cologne

Liked: Very historic style hotel. Very close to the city center and Dom. The owner is very friendly.
Disliked: Nothing

Disappointing

Lovely stay very close to...

Liked: Location was excellent. Breakfast although pricey was worth it. We treated ourselves on our last morning and wished we had booked it for the other days as well.
Disliked: There was no air con and it was a little noisy.

Exceptional

Perfect location

Liked: Lovely location and view, we took the room on the top floor overlooking the dome. Comfortable, spacious, with 2 very wide double beds.
Disliked: The refurbishment is quite outdated, but still ok.

Liked: The hotel is central and very close to the cathedral and train station.
Disliked: The hotel is on a busy street with many bars and resteraunts which means you cant use the terace. We stayed in room 9 which is not shown on any of the pictures on the website and does not match the style of any of the other rooms. The room was dark and the bedding felt dirty and smelly.

Liked: very central, many restaurants and shops in vicinity, cute hotel, homey atmosphere, Cologne main station in walking distance
Disliked: We had a very friendly welcome by the hotel staffbut a reluctant and seemingly embittered goodbye by another staff the other morning. I always knew people from Cologne & the Rhine area to be open minded,helpful, very friendly and funny too, this time however, I got quite disappointed and this not just by this one hotel staff. The atmosphere seems to have changed, some locals there appeared to be bitter, arrogant and fed up with tourists and foreigners

Liked: We loved the location! It was right next to the cathedral and walking distance of bars and everything else! We also loved the terrace!
Disliked: We had no WiFi or air conditioning at all. We had two kids and we were emailed that WiFi was free and working and the tv would not connect nor our phones.
