The Spotlight on Hotel 505

Relaxed Comfort Just Minutes from Albuquerque's Music Scene

Modern and budget-friendly, Hotel 505 is a laid-back spot just three miles from Albuquerque International Airport and less than a mile from the University of New Mexico. With an indoor pool, hot tub, and free WiFi, it’s a reliable base for concert-goers looking for comfort without the fuss. Rooms come with a microwave, mini-fridge, and cable TV — perfect for recharging after a big night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re close to multiple venues without being overwhelmed by downtown traffic. The location is quiet enough for recovery while still offering easy access to shows. Free parking and proximity to major roads make late-night ride shares a breeze. With a 3:00 PM check-in and a generous 12:00 PM check-out, you won’t be rushed before or after your event.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends road-tripping together
  • Solo travelers catching a dream show
  • Couples turning a concert into a weekend away
  • Fans who want a chill spot to unwind after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music lovers looking for value

Food and Drink Options

Start your day with a grab-and-go breakfast — ideal after a late night. While there’s no on-site restaurant, the hotel is close to several casual dining spots and coffee shops. Each room comes equipped with a microwave and mini-fridge for midnight snacks or quick bites before heading out.

Nightlife Options

You’re a short drive or ride share from Albuquerque’s buzzing bar and live music scene. Prefer to stay in? Wind down in the indoor hot tub or catch up on cable TV in your room. Hotel 505 may not be a party hub, but it’s a smart base for those who like to hit the scene and then retreat to peace and quiet.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean rooms, and convenient location. Many mention it’s a solid choice for the price, especially with the bonus of free WiFi and parking. The indoor pool and hot tub are popular features for post-concert relaxation.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the hotel is a bit dated in decor, and the grab-and-go breakfast is more basic than bountiful. If you're looking for luxury or gourmet dining, this might not be your spot—but for concert nights, it gets the job done.

The Bottom Line

Hotel 505 is a practical, comfortable choice for concert-goers who want a convenient, quiet, and affordable stay near Albuquerque’s best venues.

I deserve something for the...

Liked: NOTHING. i was perceived and judged by the employees of the hotel in the worst way possible. Mabel
Disliked: I fell outside of the lobby. I fell on my chest. I got mad and expressed myself to the woman working at the front desk. She perceived me as being verbally abusive and I wasn't at all trying to be verbally abusive. I was only expressing my anger and pain from falling outside of the front lobby on water on the ground that probably shouldn't have been there in the first place. Instead of the employees sympathising with me falling outside of their lobby, they decided to wrongfully kick me out the next morning. Even after crying and explaining to them that I was in town working as a travel nurse and I had nowhere else to go, they chose to treat me harshly and unfair. Since I booked through a third party, they told me they couldn't refund me, which really placed me in a hole. How dare they treat someone so wrong? Maybe if I was a white or Hispanic woman things may have been different. But I am a successful black woman with dark skin in New Mexico who wasn’t afraid to have an opinion and be herself, and dress professionally sexy as my other female counterparts who take business trips do. Maybe the women who work the front desk hotel had an issue with that. Regardless, I was in the midst struggling and the employees took advantage of that and chose to treat me cruelly and unfair and make my life even harder. They made false claims saying that I refused to participate in giving my room number away the morning they kicked me out; this isn’t true. I only hesitated to give my room number away because I had no idea who the man who asked me for those details was when he asked because he did not initially introduce himself as the manger. All because its New Mexico and they felt as though they could treat me like a black nincompoop who belonged in the fields outside to slave instead of a nice hotel. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Disappointing

Liked: Price was decent. Just need A place for the night to be close to hospital for an upcoming surgery. Indoor pool was a plus.
Disliked: Bullet hole outside top of balcony sliding door, with the slug in the track at the bottom. Was a little worrisome.

Passable

Liked: I like how the front desk lady was nice, got me checked in and was able to get to the room. The room was clean i liked the mirrors and the bathroom. The pool open still for us to be able to swim before heading to bed. I liked the snack area definitely. The breakfast was a little less then I expected but it was good.
Disliked: Once walking into the room it smelt like someone had already smoked in the room previously. Had to spray some fabreez and still when got back in the room from swimming still smelt the smoke. Not sure if the rooms need to be deep cleaned like the walls need to be cleaned? To take the smell away. Carpet could use some shampooing done.

Bodily fluid/discharge on sheets!

Liked: They didn't charge extra fees for my dog, that was nice.
Disliked: When I pulled back the covers, there was a crusty white stain on the sheet. It was disturbing and disgusting. It looked like dried ejaculate. I brought the sheet to the front desk and showed staff. She looked grossed out, I told her it looked like bodily fluid, and she claimed it looked like paint. It definitely wasn't. There was no indication that the rooms were painted recently. No paint smells, etc. That made me feel uncomfortable for the rest of the stay. The pool was eerie too, the door to the pool had a window, and there was greasy hand prints all over it. So, we never used the pool, it seemed dirty.
