Liked: I booked a private room with a view of the cathedral and it was worth every penny! I only had one night, but I wish I stayed longer. Staff was very kind and 2 free margarita vouchers upon arrival. Loved the vibes.
Disliked: No AC, but the fan in the room was enough for April

Comfortable, safe and clean hostel...

Liked: I've stayed here twice so far and it will be my go-to place when I need to fly in or out of Mexico City. Although the lobby and cafe are old and worn, I arrived very late and saw how thoroughly they scrub the place. Small dorms with big lockers and comfortable beds. Bring your own lock. Very quiet. Gorgeous views from the two terraces, one off the kitchen and one on the roof where they have a bar. A faucet with potable water is in the kitchen. The staff is very good at problem solving. A security guard watched the door at night in addition to the desk clerks. Free luggage storage when you leave. Breakfast isn't fancy, but you can eat it at an outdoor table overlooking a park, which is rare near the zocalo. I didn't know this until too late, but you can give a deposit to "rent" a towel.
