Liked: Needed to be on campus early, this is the perfect place to stay. Last visit was 10 years ago and it's still great, though some new apartment buildings have been built up around it.
Disliked: Fire alarm in adjacent building went off at night, but that is no fault of the hostel! :) Comes with visiting the city.

Homely Hawaiin run old school...

Liked: This is a great old school hostel like the ones from 20 years ago (that I love) and run by a local family. The building is charming old style with no aircon and a cute patio in a quiet area near the university. Good prices washing machines.
Disliked: The plumbing makes a lot of noise when toilets are flushed which can be heard in the dorm.

Peaceful place to stay, huge...

Liked: Location is great if you want to be right at at the University Campus.
Disliked: Nowhere to sit and use my laptop while charging it. I could only charge it in the room but there is no table. No electric plugs outside where the tables are. At night you’ll wake up each time someone uses the bathroom as the rushing water is really loud, even from the rooms above.The metal double beds (compared to sturdy wodden ones) are noisy and move a lot with the smallest movement on the uper or lower bunk. You can only get to your food at 7 am, the kitchen is locked at night. Not realy convinient if you get up at 6 am.
