Liked: Valencia was 32 degrees and rising at 1600hrs on the Sunday of our arrival and Jesus Ubeda the Concierge was waiting at the door to greet us like long lost freinds coming home ready to assisting unpacking the car, welcoming us to the Spa Hotel and ensuring checking in was a breeze and our car was parked in the underground for us. As our requested room with a balcony was not available a bottle of Champagne, Tangerine Mousse and Chocolates were sent to welcome us to a few days of aristocratic revitalization in the 19 century Valencian Manor HouseUpon our departure 5 days later as Jesus Ubeda was not on duty however left a letter "Dear Mr Mrs G - It has been a pleasure having you at our hotel - Here you have a freind for whatever you need - Best Regards Enjoy your trip to Jaen :)
Disliked: What's not to like being treated like a movie star - an old fashioned stay with a modern contempory vibe! Although the designated room 410 was compact and bijou however was slightly small and rather does require reconfiguration to enable two slender people to have comfortable funtionality.

Attractive, upmarket hotel in good...

Liked: Attractive, nicely decorated, old building in good location - about 10-15 mins walk from the old town. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff.Loved the evening delivery of chocolates - a nice touch.Tea/coffee machine in room. Good breakfast.
Disliked: Nicely decorated, airy room, but slightly odd configuration of bathroom/toilet. We found it difficult to access the hotel’s entrance by car, but once we found it, the car was parked for us. (You CAN park in the bus lane right outside!!! )

Not great

Liked: That it was modern and pretty new and the location
Disliked: The bed: the mattress was not great it was descending to one side, it had lost the shape so I woke up with back ache. Next day my brother suggested to put the rolled bathrobe below the descending side of the mattress so it would be flat, and I slept better but really incredible that the mattress was in that condition. Also, I asked for gluten free options for breakfast before arrival and they only offered the packed supermarket goods which is not a great option for this level of hotel. After the first breakfast I asked if for the second day they could at least prepare gluten free fresh pancakes which are very easy to do. Next day pancakes were not possible and they said they could only offer the eggs gluten free, dah eggs are already gluten free. Very disappointing breakfast overall, the kiwis were super hard so not good to eat, the choices were really limited. Also the bathroom basin had no surface around at all so we had to put our beauty on the floor whilst using the products, very uncomfortable. The bath tub had a rusty part that was very visible, I would have expected them to fix something like that.

Didn't meet basic 3 star...

Liked: Location was perfect. Very comfortable bed, and very clean.
Disliked: Internet in my room barely worked. I complained and they couldn't do anything about it. I had to go to the lobby to check my email and finish my work. The shower barely drained...it was ankle deep after just a few minutes. I complained, the claimed to have fixed it, but didn't. I had issues with the lock on my door as well. Overall, not recommended. Plenty of nicer places to stay.
