Overall hotel is beautiful, clean...

Disliked: Staff not very helpful. Lady at front desk seemed to be preoccupied on her phone. She was pleasant,. We received a free drink at the bar. Our last night at the hotel we went down to the bar at 10:15. The bartender who was very rude said. "Nope we are closed, we closed at 10." My husband said, "oh can you make an exception, it's our last night here.?Bartender replied "No can't do that". Thought he was very rude and abrupt with us. Considering we were guests and not someone who stopped in off the street. We entered the bar from the stairs.

Lovely central property

Liked: Superb location. Beautiful building and lovely staff. We opted for a king size with balcony and room size was ideal. Beds and pillows super comfortable. Would absolutely stay again!
Disliked: Whilst not a deal breaker the toilet is about a foot away from the wall so you lose a lot of space in the bathroom. Aircon too noisy to have on but to be honest the fan kept the room cool enough (it was June though so not sure if this would be enough mid summer).

The Portland grand Hotel is...

Liked: Location is very close to the Hoppin office to restaurants to Petco Stadium and the conference center. The building is beautiful with a lovely lovely courtyard.

Beautiful hotel with lots of...

Liked: It was so charming and the staff is friendly. The location is excellent as well. Will definitely be staying here again!
Disliked: The self parking was a small walk away, but it was half the price of valet for 24 hours.
