Liked: Staff were very friendly, attentive, and efficient.The bed was superb king size, room very clean shower good. In all the hotel is a definite gem especially with the water mill from the 13th century. Its a beautiful working watermill. Oh and the resident peacocks are an added attraction. The grounds are beautiful to walk around. In all this is a place I'll return to.
Disliked: Not a lot to not like. Amazing place.

Liked: Superb location, lovely room, excellent grounds. Lovely staff, good food, can’t recommend highly enough.
Disliked: The bathroom was a fabulous wet room, let down slightly by cheap shower head fittings.

Liked: The setting. What that were there were very pleasant & helpful.
Disliked: Our room had some cobwebs inside.Breakfast was ok, but not inspiring. Served dishes were ok if you liked egg.

Lovely for a stay in...

Disliked: In a small room, with a massive roof beam cutting through the ceiling across the bed and through to the en-suite… there was a notice on the beam saying mind your head, but my husband banged his several times… it was far too low and the quirky idea of it soon wore off! To be honest we got a really good rate through this site for the booking so perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised that it was obviously a ‘cheaper’ room.The building was old and the flooorboards creaked… wouldn’t be a problem as I’m quite pragmatic, but for other residents who had young (and undisciplined) children who ran up and down the corridor calling - and talking loudly - at Midnight outside our door!!! Wouldn’t have minded if I’d heard an adult reminding them to be quiet at that time of night - afterall, I know kids will be kids. But the parents had no thought for others at all. Same family talking loudly on a video call throughout breakfast too. I know the hotel cannot be responsible for residents behaviour, but it created a disappointing memory of what we were hoping would be a quiet stay in an old place. I would recommend a visit however… staff were friendly and it was a lovely setting, just ask if you’re tall which room you’re in!!
