Liked: The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of pillows for the four of us. The room was clean. It was quiet the night we stayed (we got there around 12-1am). The window shade blocked the morning light well. The AC worked excellently, even on low and without it cranked all the way cold (and I like it REALLY cold!). We never saw any bugs or evidence of bugs or rodents. In the room, there's a pretty large mini fridge with an open shelf freezer compartment, a microwave, and an iron and ironing board. They provide mini soap bars and a couple mini tubes of shampoo and soap. There were plenty of towels for our family, but only two wash cloths. They have a suitcase rack and a place for hanging a few things.The breakfast was pretty good. They have a waffle maker and individual syrup packets. There were two kinds of dry cereal (Froot Loops and Frosted Flakes), 2% milk, three flavors of yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, muffins, bread for toast, butter, turkey sausage, and scrambled eggs. They had orange juice and apple juice in a machine. I had the orange juice, but it was kind of bitter: canned, I'm sure. There was coffee available in the breakfast room. They've got a microwave and a mini fridge with a glass door in there, so you can see what's in it.I got my cash deposit back the next morning. There is a pool, though we didn't use it. We were allowed an extra hour to check out.
Disliked: There was a strong smell of pot at the place at night. To be expected, I guess, given the area and the lower price. The room smelled musty. I would say it was the carpet, but there's a wood-looking linoleum floor. Perhaps it's the beds or furniture; they are fairly old. The one chair in the room was pretty dirty and very used; also not suitable to use as a chair for the desk.Had a little issue checking in. I took a picture of the person checking us in and my cash deposit. He was not happy with that and told me he would be giving me a receipt. I told him I was concerned because I knew it would be a different person in the morning, and that we had been cheated at a different hotel before. He said I needed to delete my pictures. I told him I would delete them once I had a receipt. He got the receipt ready and let me take a picture of it through the glass. I showed him that I was deleting his pictures. He said he wanted me to empty them from the trash as well. I didn't know how and let him help me figure that out. So it worked out in the end, at least. The room is dated, but I could tell it had been painted somewhat recently, and the flooring was decent.The pool is outside and very small.It isn't obvious how to keep the waffles from sticking (the spray is in a drawer and you need to use a LOT of it for it to work). There was a kid making a waffle before me and he had a REALLY hard time because it got stuck so badly. I asked where the spray was after I saw that. The waffle batter wasn't quite mixed enough (could be a flaw of the machine), so I couldn't cook a whole waffle.
