Pleasant stay in an historic...

Liked: Truly an interesting, mid-19th Century merchant home. The interior is a treat to explore.
Disliked: I was surprised to see the exterior and grounds were a bit run down. My bed was quite firm - some may like this, however I found it uncomfortable, as a slide sleeper.Lastly, the 3 windows in my room opened to a shared (flat) roof with access by both stairs and other rooms. At least 1 of the 3 windows did’t lock. So, there is an access and safety issue there as an intruder could easily climb the stairs to the roof and enter the room. If the window (far right one) had a solid lock, I could have relaxed more and felt at ease.

Enjoyable historical stay

Liked: Intriguing historical property, which makes for an interesting stay in comfortable rooms. Communal rooms for relaxing and chatting. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff friendly
Disliked: A surprise package awaits within the slightly tired home on the outside...but don't be deceived..it was fabulous

Liked: lovely couple who made everyone fresh breakfast (lots of fruits, waffles / omelet, etc.)whole house was historically furnished
Disliked: Mattress was not comfortable.

Disappointing & unattractive!!!

Liked: Breakfast was delicious & many options. Couple who own the B&B were gracious hosts The morning breakfast area & kitchen were the only attractive parts of the home.
Disliked: The house has much potential to be renovated into a beautiful place. Instead it’s a trash heap outside in dire need of many repairs. There’s no comfortable seating in the public spaces indoors. The town of St John is not welcoming to outsiders at all.
