Ok for a night

Liked: Location was useful in downtown. Decent gym.
Disliked: Internet poor. Hoping to watch some of the NCAA tournament, the TV streaming was unwatchable... No remedy once telling them about it. Parking overpriced.

Liked: All the staff were so friendly and helpful Especially Tom. he took me around the hotel and showed me where things were. He was always smiling and willing to help guests.
Disliked: Nothing, I will stay at this hotel again on my next trip into Salem. My friends and I will stay here as a group.

Liked: I absolutely loved the property and really wished we could have stayed! There was a mix up with our reservation, I even called two days in advance to make sure all was good. Front desk staff who I talked with was friendly and said everything looked good for our arrival she seemed familiar with affirm and if it’s available though to use at your hotel your whole staff should be familiar with it also. I used affirm for the first time and made half of my first payment. Front desk person charged the full amount even after telling him affirm card is only good for a certain amount and once the card is charged it becomes inactive. We drove 200 miles and were ready to get our room and relax staff acted like there was nothing they could do for us. They were at max capacity as I believe an event was going on we showed up a little after 3 our reservation was at 4 I was on the phone with affirm getting it taken care of we stayed in view of front desk staff so they knew we were trying to figure it out and our room was given away even before our check in time. I really wanted to stay at this hotel but I was not pleased how the staff handled the situation. If someone has a reservation and even if the hotel is booked the room should have not been given away before that check in time and gave us time to figure it out. We had to scramble to find another hotel which we were not pleased with. Definitely made our trip unpleasant especially it being a work trip.

Liked: Sloppy service, though staff very pleasant.
Disliked: Very noisy with loud traffic nearby. Gym had only one Peloton bike.

On point, this hotel had...

Liked: Very convenient to University campus and restaurants, but loved the restaurant on-site for rainy mornings and late dinners. We especially loved the lounge areas for private calls and homework.
Disliked: We had to switch rooms after first night due to noisy neighbors above us, but the staff were very accommodating and helped us make a quick and easy room change.

Nice place that could be...

Liked: Everything was great, with just a few caveats. Why not have throw pillows on the couch and chairs? Do people steal them? It looks chintzy and unfinished. There was a kitchenette in our suite. Why were the dishes and utensils so limited? These things are not expensive. One day, we asked the front desk for some paper towels. The young woman seemed baffled by the question. Why have a kitchenette and fail to understand such a request? Thank you.
