Lovely hotel , we would...

Liked: Beautiful hotel with an interesting history and stunning foyer area in a lovely location . Friendly staff . Our room had a lovely view and the beds were so comfortable. The only negative was the bar prices were really expensive. If they lowered the price of drinks more people would stay at the bar area .
Disliked: The bar prices .

Lovely Hotel in a country...

Liked: We needed to stay close to Macclesfield so location was important. The hotel itself looked lovely on the photographs and the restaurant was very spacious, nicely decorated and bright. We had a standard room which was perfectly adequate for our short stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was large enough. The staff were friendly and accommodating, breakfast was included in our package with a full English menu.
Disliked: The pillows were past their best and very flat and hard. The sealant around the bath needs either changing or cleaning as it was black in places.

In short the worst place...

Liked: Only okay thing was the breakfast
Disliked: The staff was rude and not attentive at all. Heater was not working in one of the rooms and there were no toiletries in both the rooms. Had to ask for toiletries from the receptionist more than thrice. She said she is busy with some other work and when she brought the toiletries the bottles were just emptied shampoos and soap (I have already put a review with images in google).

Superb

Liked: I loved the location, the scenery was great. The staff were friendly and attentive.The room was lovely and warm, the bed was so comfortable
Disliked: Could hear everything in the hall way, including the creaky doors. Just a minor suggestion, there was no toothpaste

Well worth booking if you...

Liked: Excellent Dinner. Great service.
Disliked: Room was little too warm over night.

Average stay

Liked: Dated rooms but they are clean and sufficient for a night stay. Shower pressure was good. Bed size along with duvet and pillows were pretty good.
Disliked: The bedroom which are quiet dated and not in the grand way like the grounds/ main dining. Bathroom had a loose hot tap. No soap in shower dispenser. Breakfast selection minimal on hot food side and bit of a wait times for items to be refilled.

Exceptional

Liked: Used many times by family near and far. Beautiful quality hotel in a wonderful setting. Easy access to soo many areas. Friendly and attentive staff providing very reasonably priced quality goods and services. Couldn't ask or expect more. Looking forward to my next visit.
Disliked: Shame I was only here for one night.
