The Spotlight on Holiday Inn Washington D.C. - Greenbelt Maryland

Comfortable, Convenient Stay Just Outside D.C.

Modern, practical, and just outside the bustle of downtown D.C., the Holiday Inn Washington D.C. - Greenbelt Maryland is a solid pick for concert-goers looking for a quiet retreat after a big night out. Located about 16 miles from the city center and only 8 miles from FedEx Field, this hotel offers free parking, complimentary WiFi, and room comforts like a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker—perfect for winding down after a show.
Whether you're catching a gig in D.C. or heading to a show nearby, this hotel blends convenience with comfort.

Why Concert-goers love it

You're close enough to the action without getting caught in the chaos. With FedEx Field just 8 miles away and downtown D.C.'s venues a straight shot down the highway, it’s an easy base for concert nights. After the show, you’ll appreciate the quieter suburban setting, free parking, and the option to sleep in with a 12:00 PM checkout. The hotel’s location also makes it easy to grab a late Uber or drive yourself—no tricky city navigating needed.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to split a room and save with free parking
  • Solo travelers attending a must-see show
  • Couples planning a relaxed concert weekend
  • Fans looking for a peaceful spot to recover post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who don’t mind staying just outside town

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Malone’s Sports Bar & Grill serves up American breakfast favorites—ideal for a post-late-night sleep-in. While there’s no late-night dining or 24/7 room service, each room has a microwave and mini-fridge so you can stock up on snacks. Plus, you'll find several casual dining options a short drive away.

Nightlife Options

This hotel leans more low-key, but that's not a bad thing. While there’s no on-site nightlife beyond breakfast service, you're close to the bars and lounges in nearby College Park or can head into D.C. for a full night out. Great for those who prefer to leave the party outside and sleep soundly.

What People Say

Guests regularly praise the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the convenience of free parking. Many appreciate the value and comfort, especially those attending events nearby. The pool is a bonus in warmer months, and travelers like the easy drive into the city.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the hotel is a bit dated in spots, and you’ll need to plan ahead for food if you're arriving late—there’s no dinner service on-site. But for a concert-focused trip, the trade-off is a quieter, budget-friendly stay.

The Bottom Line

A great value stay with easy access to D.C. venues and FedEx Field, this hotel is perfect for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and a quiet space to crash.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Courtney, Montgomery, visiting Martin's Crosswinds Mon, 3 May 2021

The first thing you see upon walking in is caution tape in an X. The rooms are ridiculously worn; the shower didn't work; the ceiling was peeling; there was an odor no matter where you went. We cancelled and went to another hotel.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Everything.

I attended a friend's Birthday party. Everything from the room to the food was exceptional. My room was clean and quiet. I would stay again.

Liked: Convenient to Martin's Crosswinds.

Teresa, Hyattsville, visiting Martin's Crosswinds Tue, 3 January 2017

I feel it is probably time for this hotel to get a renovation. I say this, though it sits right next door to such a great venue and accommodates some of the guests who are attending Martin's Crosswinds.

Liked: The bed - very, very, comfortable!
Disliked: The peeling of the bottom of bathtub and the very low toliet. I felt like I was in preschool or elementary as far as that toliet. I am a short person and it was still too low for me.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. I got three rooms - we were there for a wedding. The staff was exceptionally amazing. Very nice; very clean. Thank you so much.
