Superb

Good value stay - but...

Liked: Good size, dual aspect corner room at the front of the hotel. Parking reasonably priced. Breakfast was average / good for this type of hotel.
Disliked: The air-con in the room was practically useless - we couldn't get the room cooler than 24.5'C at night, so the room was stifling hot - and, as the room was at the front of the hotel, overlooking a busy road junction, leaving the widows open was not a practical option due to the road noise.Less than 1/3rd of the TV channels on the TV in the room worked.Although the hotel is described as 'city centre', it is, in fact, about a 10-15 minute walk from any amenities.The only bar that was open was basically a stand in the lobby, which was staffed by the receptionist on demand. The choice was small, beer warm and we were served wine that had obviously corked (we returned for a refund). We noticed another 'proper' bar downstairs, but this was curtained off, so I assume that to save staff costs, this was kept closed.Much of the outside areas of the hotel were overgrown with weeds.

Disliked: Breakfast seemed to be sitting in the open. Bread was dry, hams and cheeses etc were sitting out in the open uncovered and didn't feel too fresh. No bar, just a lobby and no facilities to have a coffee or get a snack - Very limited!

Great place to stay

Liked: Close to city centre but very quiet street.Easy walk to train station. Reception staff always good humoured and helpful.
Disliked: Nothing

Disliked: Old building .. really need some fresh air very soon
