Holiday Inn Taunton

Never stayed in a Hotel Inn before, so didn't know what to expect. Loved this hotel as soon as we walked in. It looked lovely; all the staff were so friendly; my 8 year old daughter had a great time - she loved the Easter egg hunt. Would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Liked: Staff were very friendly; food was lush.
Disliked: Nothing.

Good nights sleep and great...

Friendly, but understaffed.

Liked: A good location. Nice to have the facilities to use in the morning.
Disliked: Lack of staffing on reception. On arrival our allocated room had rubbish in the bin, faeces in the toilet and the bed had clearly been laid on with a menu in the centre of it. There was a fan in place due to broken air con. It took a good 10 minutes waiting at reception due to only one member of staff on a busy evening to arrange another room. The room was fine, but the air con was also broken and it was hot. There was no recognition of any of this on leaving.

Disliked: The sofa bed needs upgrading so springs are not felt Other staff need to look like they enjoy their job Swimming pool needs cleaning and the changing areas smelling Outside furniture needs up dating When private function this shouldn't affect other paying guests for dinner service, bar service and nowhere inside to sit

Adequate for a one night...

Liked: Breakfast was excellent, good choices on food and drink. The room was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Towels were white and very clean
Disliked: there is no extractor in the bathroom there were signs of rust on the door and below the shower base. Also the shower head holder was loose. There is a restaurant for evening meals, but it was virtually closed because of an event which meant we had to slum it at the Harvester (which had many meals "off" the menu due to broken fridges and lack of kitchen staff)

Liked: Cleanliness of rooms,good shower and bed comfy
Disliked: Disappointed in the management of the cooked breakfast items,not on it enough to keep the choices topped up,husband ended up pretty much finishing his breakfast before I got mine,the Staples of sausages,bacon,eggs and mushrooms were extremely slow in coming out,empty trays for a long time,whereas the hash browns and tomatoes were being topped up unnecessarily !! Didn't seem to be in a hurry to sort either...
