With free Wi-Fi, an on-site restaurant and lounge, and cozy rooms equipped with coffee makers and cable TV, it's a reliable home base for your music-filled getaway.

Why Concert-goers love it

You can walk to several popular venues and downtown nightlife spots – no car or rideshare required. The hotel’s downtown location makes it a smart pick for catching shows and late-night hangs. Flexible check-in at 3:00 PM and a convenient 11:00 AM checkout mean you can settle in and sleep in without a rush. While it’s close to the action, the hotel itself stays fairly quiet — great for unwinding after a high-energy night.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends hitting a concert weekend together
- Solo travelers crossing a show off their bucket list
- Couples making a weekend adventure out of a favorite band
- Fans seeking quiet comfort after the encore
- Budget-conscious music lovers who want value and location

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Skye Tower Restaurant and Lounge serves up American favorites for both breakfast and dinner, and it’s a solid choice if you come back hungry post-show. While there’s no 24/7 room service, having a full-service restaurant in-house is a plus. The downtown location also means you're within easy walking distance of late-night bites and coffee spots for that much-needed morning-after caffeine fix.

Nightlife Options

You’re in downtown Raleigh — which means live music venues, bars, and lounges are all within walking distance. Whether you're looking to pre-game the concert or keep the night going with a few craft cocktails, you’ll find plenty of options nearby. The hotel’s own lounge offers a quieter spot to unwind if you’re not up for more crowds.

What People Say

Guests love the central location for exploring Raleigh’s music and arts scene. Reviews often mention the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the convenience of having a bar and restaurant on-site. Many note it's a great value for being right downtown and close to venues.

Areas for Improvement

Some rooms could use a bit of an update, and parking isn’t included — something to keep in mind if you’re driving in. That said, most find the trade-off worth it for the location and price.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want to stay downtown without breaking the bank, Holiday Inn Raleigh Downtown hits the right notes with comfort, convenience, and walkability.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

John, Hampstead, visiting The Ritz Raleigh Thu, 15 June 2023

Total price with taxes of $200 was way too much for what you get (which is not much) - just close it down and rebuild. We were able to enter the elevators without a key card (security issues); we slept on top of the covers - yuck.

Liked: The location was convenient to the venue.
Disliked: This hotel is really going downhill. Stains on the carpet; desk chair completely worn out; peeling wallpaper; rust bubbling on the door frames; TV picture fuzzy; sheets questionable; AC barely kept up.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Anya B, Cleveland Ohio, visiting Dorothea Dix Park Wed, 5 April 2023

I would never ever stay at this location again; only one elevator worked; it was extremely dirty in the rooms. Hole in the wall in the bathroom. Shower was clogged; chairs was falling apart at the desk. I take it I paid for location because everything else was horrible - it was like a dirty motel.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Everything dirty; room shower was clogged.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Sanja H, Virginia Tue, 12 February 2013

This was the worst hotel I have stayed in for the price. The room was dirty; the tub in the bathroom had dye on and in it (dirty); the carpet was horrible. I will not stay here again.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Condition of the room was dirty.
