Holiday Inn Niagara Falls State Park Entry

I was disappointed when I arrived at the hotel. The lobby is nice enough, but my room and the halls themselves are very lacklustre. The bed was OK - it was obvious the linens were fairly old. The furniture in the room was arranged oddly. The night stand was not within reach of the bed, which was placed in the corner away from the obvious headboard where the bed was supposed to be on the wall. The TV was placed in the opposite corner. I had to turn and push it to the end of the dresser so that I could see it from the bed. There's a general odd smell to the hotel. The floor lamp in my room had a giant spider's web in it (with accompanying spider, yes). The room was just not in the greatest shape. I realize for the price I wasn't going to get bells and whistles, but it felt like the condition of the hotel beyond the lobby is neglected more than it should be. Also, while I was there I received a phone call at around 9 PM to my room from someone trying to get my card information. They claimed to be the general manager for the hotel. According to her they'd just updated their "system" and my card had been declined for incidentals. She needed to update my info to see if it was a glitch in the system due to this update. Thankfully I realized it was fishy and told her I would just come down to the lobby. This apparently happened to other people in the hotel as well. Be wary. Staff were very nice, though.

Perfect location awesome staff

Liked: The property was the perfect location, the staff was super nice and helpful. The open space around the pool and checking was spectacular.
Disliked: Other properties had a small continental breakfast but wasn’t a deal breaker. There was a coffee service and that was nice
