Holiday Inn Newport

Peaceful and clean surroundings. Nice friendly, welcoming staff.

Disliked: Hot food had become cold by the time it was served, especially the room service. Very disappointing.

I visited this Hotel on 5th August. The staff were very friendly and very helpful when questions were asked which I was unsure about. The only bad point I have is that I went to the hotel with 2 other people and when we ordered food in a quiet time, 2 of us had our food and then had to wait an hour for our other meal to arrive but waiter and staff were very apologetic. I would definitely stay here again.

Liked: Free use of the Swimming Pool and Gym Facilities.

Good access to the conference centre; breakfast was OK but facilities could have been better. Would stay again but now aware of the drawbacks.

Liked: Clean and tidy.
Disliked: TV in room didn't work - highlighted to front of house and wasn't sorted when I got back from the conference.

Liked: The food was generally good.
Disliked: The bathroom and bedroom facilities. The toilet tank kept running each time you flushed it and the bath wasn't draining out the water properly at all. The plumber had to come by the room twice.

Disliked: Air con too fierce in bar and restaurantFood tended to come with excess sauce or gravy depending on menu choice.

Liked: Convenient location, close to motorway. Plenty of parking. Great air conditioning.
Disliked: Some rooms have had a modern upgrade but others haven't. Could be cleaner possibly.

Great comfortable, air-conditioned, secluded hotel

Liked: The air-conditioning is the room was perfect for the heatwave we experienced. The staff were incredibly helpful and all very very lovely. Can't rate them all enough!
Disliked: The only thing I didn't realise was there was the option of room service (only realised after seeing plates etc outside the doors) but this is entirely on me! I didn't see it advertised anywhere.

Liked: The property was surrounded by beautiful nature. You could easily walk around and breathe fresh air. The hotel is clean and beautiful and it has an amazing restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as bar for drinks
Disliked: Everything was great

Complete disaster of a stay.

Liked: Convenient location for the ICC, some staff very friendly.
Disliked: We had a disaster of a stay! Horrendous noise coming from room above, handled unprofessionally by the night staff, complaint the next day initially dealt with well but the refund I was offered still hasn't come through a week later. Definitely won't be staying next year, such a shame.
