Holiday Inn Newport

Peaceful and clean surroundings. Nice friendly, welcoming staff.

Disliked: Hot food had become cold by the time it was served, especially the room service. Very disappointing.

I visited this Hotel on 5th August. The staff were very friendly and very helpful when questions were asked which I was unsure about. The only bad point I have is that I went to the hotel with 2 other people and when we ordered food in a quiet time, 2 of us had our food and then had to wait an hour for our other meal to arrive but waiter and staff were very apologetic. I would definitely stay here again.

Liked: Free use of the Swimming Pool and Gym Facilities.

Good access to the conference centre; breakfast was OK but facilities could have been better. Would stay again but now aware of the drawbacks.

Liked: Clean and tidy.
Disliked: TV in room didn't work - highlighted to front of house and wasn't sorted when I got back from the conference.

Liked: The food was generally good.
Disliked: The bathroom and bedroom facilities. The toilet tank kept running each time you flushed it and the bath wasn't draining out the water properly at all. The plumber had to come by the room twice.

Was perfect and so close...

Liked: In a peaceful location yet just off M4. Comfortable and modernised with taste. Room was well appointed and clean with everything I needed. The staff were so friendly and warm could see they were a team. Received lovely message before my stay to welcome me.
Disliked: Nothing!!

A good stay

Liked: Very clean, very polite staff. It's the 4th time returning and I could notice small improvements this year, the carpets I think have been replaced with newer ones and everything was cleaner than last year.
Disliked: The toilet didn't work sometimes. We alerted the staff and they did try to fix it but unfortunately even after that sometimes it didn't work. We had to press the button for water multiple times before it flew properly. Sometimes it was annoying. The pressure of the water was too low. The food at the restaurant was a hit and miss. I ate some very good dishes but others were not good. The pizza for example was inedible, we were a group of 7 people together at the table and we all found it terrible. But the servers were very nice and the food was always brought quickly, we appreciated these things.

Liked: The room had a fridge, a really good iron and ironing board, the bath was large and the liquid soaps smelt very nice. The guys who ran the bar were friendly and the reception staff were so accommodating.
