Holiday Inn Memphis Downtown Beale St. By IHG

Was surprised there wasn't a fridge in the room. The room was comfortable and made for a great trip.

Liked: Staff was polite and helpful.
Disliked: Ice machine on floor was broken.

Fridge and in-room safe would have been nice; wait staff in bar/restaurant could have been better.

Liked: Clean room and linens; hotel staff very nice; price about average for similar hotels; walking distance to theater.

Stay cancelled, no refund

Disliked: When we arrived at the hotel we were told the air con wasn't working and our stay had been cancelled. I had to pay for a new room at a different hotel. I have been waiting over a month for a refund.

Liked: The staff was exceptional-- everyone in the hallways or reception or breakfast were extra friendly and respectful. The shuttle drivers were exceptional!

Liked: Was unable to stay at the property. When I arrived, the air conditioning for the entire building was broken. They wouldn’t allow anyone to check into the hotel that night.
Disliked: See above.

Fraudulent

Liked: I get there and they are permanently closed and didn’t even stay there so I had to go to the other one on Presley blvd. And you still have my money from the one you allowed to book when it was closed. I will never use booking .rip off again!!!!!!!!!!! You guys are a bunch of frauds!!!!!!!

Had to cancel stay because...

Disliked: When we arrived at this Memphis location, we were told that there was no A/C in bldg and it would take quite a bit of time to fix the chiller. We had the option to check out the room, in case we wish to still stay. After observing that our room's thermostat read 84 degrees and had a very musty spell, we decided to cancel our 3 night stay. I still don't know if I will be penalized for cancelling my reservation on the date of arrival or not!
