Pleasant
Liked: Reception staff on check in and check out could not have been any nicer or more professional, they were great. We got a cheeky free upgrade as it was quiet that night which made us feel important and valued. The fit out, dcor of the whole hotel and rooms is very nice, modern, comfortable and appealing. Breakfast food was well cooked and well presented.
Disliked: The breakfast staff were borderline rude. Their verbal communication was short and sharp and not welcoming at all. It felt like they were looking down their noses at us. When we arrived the lady with the headscarf or headdress, middle aged didn't ask for our name and room number, just demanded "Name and Number" no good morning pleasantries or anything. When my wife asked her where we could get a cup of tea, the same lady just pointed at the drinks station and said nothing! How rude!. There was another lady, dark hair, quite young in her 20's I would say. Was sitting on a high stool, at a high table on her mobile phone. I approached her and mentioned 'politely' that the buffet had run out of bacon and scrambled eggs. She no more than looked at me, said nothing, got up off the stool and shuffled to the kitchen, almost disgusted with me that I had disturbed her from her phone time. Then 5 minutes later a young gentleman came to my table with 3 bacon rashers and some scrambled eggs. To be clear I was only trying to be helpful and I didn't want any bacon or eggs, I was just letting them know. I don't think the young lady understood my accent or my intentions. She then went back and sat down at the high table to get back on her phone. All in all, it felt that the breakfast staff had some kind of problem in serving us and clearly do not want a career in hospitality and almost had a 'chip on their shoulder' serving us. I strongly suggest that regional management, should check the restaurant shift rota for the day I checked out and send 'secret customer/s' to experience it. Shame, everything else was nice.
