Holiday Inn Madison at The American Center By IHG

Satisfied our needs.

Liked: Staff were friendly and accommodating. Had nice amenities.
Disliked: The water pressure in the shower was pretty weak and there were small stains on one of the pillow cases.

Liked: The staff at the front desk was professional, ready to help and courteous. As well as the gentleman who had to fix something in the room. Pool was a nice space. Bed was comfortable. The lobby area was clean, warm and inviting.
Disliked: Breakfast buffet not worth $14.95. Rugs in halls were loose (careful not to trip) and dirty. Chair by desk in room the top part of leather was worn away. Toilet paper holder came off the wall. TV didn't work, but was fixed immediately. Front part of sink in bathroom broken. Very outdated room which could use updating.

Liked: the front of staff registration woman, Ressie (reece) was wonderful. she was so professional yet light hearted and kind. welcoming and so sweet to my girls. she helped us get signed up as members and an early check in and was just great !
Disliked: the drinks were kinda pricy but the service and food were great. its standard at a hotel for drinks to be higher i assume this isnt a unique issue. however, food was great like 10/10 and kids eat free with purchase of an adult meal was great for a family of 5 !! server was great, she was only in her third or so week and so personable and kind.

Liked: Location. Close to everything we were in Madison for. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The room showed its age. Had not been renovated. The bathroom did not have a ventilation fan which isn’t good with the high moisture created when showering. The room lacked usb ports to conveniently charge phones/electronics. Room temperature/cooling was difficult to regulate - either too much air conditioning or not enough. The hallway carpeting was in rough shape.

Liked: Just the pool
Disliked: They wouldn’t let me check into my hotel booking.com at $25. When we got there it was 100 and I only had $95 on card and it wouldn’t let me do a partial payment so we couldn’t check into our room till like 8:00 PM at night. Then breakfast was $20 per person and it was supposed to be included in our stay.

Superb

Liked: Nice spacious lobby. Huge accessible room. Strong air conditioning. Bathroom well equipped with plenty of towels. Clean except carpet. Great pool. Very helpful front desk staff. Pretty decent breakfast and very good burger.
Disliked: This hotel has some age to it. Carpets old and frayed. Hard to read the buttons on the elevator panel. Too worn. Table tops sticky in restaurant. Laundry machines require coins.
