Holiday Inn Johnstown-Downtown By IHG

Disliked: Really feel overcharged for the room. Overheard the hotel quoted $85 less on phone while I was waiting to check in. Wanted to have dinner in the restaurant and was told it was only open to guests of an organization. Felt very insulted since I was a hotel guest paying $175+ for a not so great room. No other decent restaurants nearby. Staff suggested I go to a bar down the street. Will never stay at this hotel again, and will tell anyone interested about my bad experience.

Liked: Location was great. Bonnie at the front desk was wonderful. So pleasant. Room was clean. Enjoyed the music on Friday evening. Katie was great. All the staff greeted me with a smile and a hello.
Disliked: Did not like the breakfast. I ordered eggs over easy and the yolk came out solid. The ham was very thin and salty. Pool definitely needs work. Not very inviting. But I understand the hotel is going through major renovations, so perhaps this is scheduled to be redone.
