Exceptional

Good hotel for a stopover

Liked: Check in very good (we arrived about 9pm) and loads of parking with easy access to major road network. Room was comfy enough for the one night we stayed. The bar and breakfast areas were very comfortable. Breakfast itself was very good with a wide choice of hot and cold items and they will make some things, like omelettes or poached eggs fresh to order. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening but from what we say, it looked pretty decent. Overall, a good experience and a good choice - we were travelling back to Scotland from the Harwich ferry and would definitely consider staying again.
Disliked: Pretty small shower room/toilet but not a problem really. WiFi wasn't good but worked.

Disappointing

Liked: Breakfast was good, good choice.
Disliked: The bathroom was very small not easy to get in and out of, the door opened right onto the toilet. So had to stand to the side of the toilet to open and shut the door.

Liked: The room was clean, the swimming pool and sauna were nice, most staff was friendly
Disliked: The receptionist was quite short and not really friendly. The gym equipment was old and not everything was working well. The room was quite noisy, so woke up 2 times because of doors slamming and other guest noises

Very good

Liked: Alex gave us a room close to the car park so we could easily access our luggage on the ground floor and make it easier for our kids. Breakfast was plentiful and good variety
Disliked: Was great to have jacuzzi and gym but the changing rooms and spa are in need of a revamp as well as better cleaning. Changing rooms were a bit smelly. However all parts of spa and gym were working fine.
