Overall thoroughly enjoyed my first...

Liked: Very pleasant and helpful reception staff. Was staying as going to watch Coldplay. Lady on the desk explained a local bus option to get to the venue and return locally. At breakfast the staff member told us what options available and she sat us at a nice table. On checking out the lady at reception was another upbeat member. All staff lovely. The room was nice only gripe was a few fabric stains on a chair side of bed, and on the carpet. Nothing we couldn't live with but an observation and I think a quick rub down and these issues would be quickly dealt with. As I've said didn't impact our experience at all. Bed comfortable nice view, refrigerator in the room, shower or bath options. Location was ideal and a short walk to bus and train concourse and town centre. Restaurants and bars also in walking distance. Lovely location.
Disliked: As mentioned a few stains in the room we had which are quickly picked up on and for all this didn't impact our stay at all for more sensitive people they may make a mountain out of a molehill. You can never make a second first impression. Walking back through a quiet town centre late at night, lots of non English young men shouting in a foreign language and cycling around. Older people or single women may find this worrying.

Liked: Location was good. Breakfast was excellent and the issues that I had with the room were sorted out efficiently and quickly by the reception staff
Disliked: Tired property and overpriced evening meal that I’d have paid half price for in a pub chain . Needs an overhaul and more training for the bar/restaurant staff. Or, more staff on duty?

Liked: Area was nice the hotel was in, but the road works where a pain to drive around
Disliked: Felt i was over charged with the price of the room for one night, because coldplay were in town
