Holiday Inn Houston Intercontinental Airport

I would not choose this...

Liked: It's OK if you like a cooked breakfast. Small but adequate selection of fruit and generic pastries. It is sufficient.
Disliked: 1. Only regular brewed coffee. Not good.2. No plain yogurt, only flavored with sugar.3. Room: Safe dead on arrival, had to call maintenance4. No fan in the bathroom. They really need one.5. Hallway is carpeted and carpet is not fresh and doesn't look clean.6. Blackout curtain stuck and would not lift, dark morning.7. On a positive note: staff was very nice and helpful (they had to be) and bed was comfortable. Room was clean.

A good place to stay...

Liked: Rooms are comfortable, spacious and tidy. The room has air conditioning, coffee/tea maker, microwave and fridge. Very convenient access to the airport (IAH). Good choice of breakfasts, lunch or dinner also available (for an extra charge)
Disliked: There are almost no services within walking distance

Awfulness

Liked: Property needs serious upgrade. Looks like a deal motel
Disliked: Everything from the bathrooms to the rug on the floor to the air conditioner. The list is long. Like I said it needs serious upgrade or they should just shut it down. It’s the worst hotel I have ever stayed in

If you can't get a...

Liked: Location is good. Property is clean.
Disliked: 1. No House-keeping on call. They keep saying someone's coming, but nobody does2. In-room facilities are disappointing. The coffee maker didn't work. There is no kettle or no way to support warm water or milk3. The staff is unfriendly. Standard answer to every request was No, without bothering to support the request differently if not possible directly4. Did not replenish anything during room cleaning.

Acceptable mid range airport hotel.

Liked: Good comfortable bed,blackout curtains,wifi and aircon
Disliked: I asked the front desk to call a taxi for me because I missed the shuttle back to the airport.The taxi driver who arrived 2 minutes later said the standard rate for his taxi was $60.00(Saturday 7 a.m.). I wish the front desk had told me they charged such a premium. The night before a taxi charged me only $22.50 from the airport to the hotel.
