Great hotel for a visit...

Liked: Staff was extremely pleasant to deal with whether the front desk or the restaurant. The ability to text them was excellent. The breakfast was superb!
Disliked: Nothing

Good

Liked: Lovely location on the Otonabee River close to the footbridge. Although our room faced the busy George St corridor the soundproofing was excellent. Bed comfortable. The room was typical Holiday Inn but still well appointed with sufficient outlets and convenient sink counter in bathroom. Extremely clean - housekeeping should be commended. They were accommodating with early check in.
Disliked: This was the bad side of our downtown location as our van was broken into during the night. The hotel might want to warn guests about this. Check in was fine though I had the sense they were understaffed.

Disliked: No heads up about the breakfast. $60 for three for what would have been toast and coffee. Buffet only no other option. Wall between the next-door washroom must’ve been very thin. Could hear everything.

Great stay but too short.

Liked: Customer service, Rohit was very kind. I signed up for the points program and he was very thorough of its rewards.He smiled and was welcoming from the beginning.We ate dinner at the bar in the restaurant. We had the steak salad and it was amazing. The bartender was also very friendly.
Disliked: The group of teenagers outside the parking lot door. They asked us to let them in, but we chose to enter from lobby instead.The front end staff has already alerted the local police and were waiting for them to arrive.

Lots to offer kids. Free...

Liked: The breakfast buffet was incredible with many options. We loved that kids eat free. We were really appreciative of the manager accommodating a large group & finding us a place for a celebration. The activities for kids was fun & engaging especially the button making, cookie decorating & karaoke. Highly recommend for a getaway for kids!
