We wish the pool was...

Liked: The pool was not open during our stay and we booked this hotel for the pool! The staff were great. The room was also fine.

Disliked: No handicap room available like I asked for when I made the reservation

We came for a one...

Liked: The location was a good distance from where we needed to be. The breakfast was also decent.
Disliked: When we entered the room, we were struck with immediate humidity. The room was so humid that the sheets on both beds were slightly damp and it slightly smelled of mold. This made sleeping difficult, even with the fan on. In regard to the washroom, it had no body wash, it was missing a hair dryer, and there were only 3 sets of towels even thought the booking stated 4 people would be present.

Disliked: The pool was closed and i was never informed. The booking website and the hotel’s website both said the pool was open and the hotel staff did not mention it when checking in. The pool was the only reason i chose this hotel in the first place. Also the laundry on our floor didn’t work and there was stains on the walls in our room.

Disliked: The furniture in the room is chipping the bathroom was not properly cleaned soap dish in the shower was extremely dirty. The carpet is filthy needs to be shampooed and the beds are very uncomfortable

Liked: The breakfast was actually good and included; that was a plus. Parking was free (I'm only mentioning that because some others traveled with us and stayed at a different hotel and had to pay for both parking and breakfast...shame). The young man who checked us in on the first night was friendly and courteous.
Disliked: The look and overall atmosphere of the hotel is OLD and OLD-LOOKING. It could use a serious upgrade. The room where we stayed in was not as cozy and nest as I would have liked; however, it wasn't terrible. Minor holes in walls; wall paper was peeling; carpet was dark but was vacuumed, but I'm sure it hadn't been cleaned in a while ( I kept my house shoes on whenever I needed to move around.) I saw two ants in the room and another outside bug that somehow got inside the room that I killed during the first night. Overall, this Holiday Inn & Express differed very much than when we travel back to our hometown in Norfolk, VA. So it was a little disappointing but not to the point where we needed to switch hotels. Would I stay at this particular location if my travels bring me back here????... Naw, God-willing, I would not. (Just a personal preference)
