Good stay outside of downtown...

Liked: This was a nice property overall. We were looking for somewhere to stay that wasn't right inside of downtown STL so this was a great option. When we walked in, the hotel was clean and the woman working the front desk welcomed us right away. I wish I would have caught her name because she was so pleasant and created a great impression for us up front. She was warm and was talking to us about our visit and the concert we were headed to. Just very genuine and kind. When we entered our room, it was a little stuffy but turning down the air fixed that quickly. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. Not a ton of light but it was enough for what we needed. We had to check out early the next morning so we didn't get to experience breakfast or any other amenities but what we did experience created a pleasant visit.
Disliked: As I mentioned above, the lighting wasn't the greatest. It's totally just the way the lamps are, which is a design choice and I am sure okay for most people. I just like a lot of light. I would say our room was mostly clean but there were some spots here and there that I was able to wipe down myself. Not a huge deal at all but something we noticed. My main issue, which we did mention when we checked out, was that the sink very slow to drain. It wasn't a major deal our first night because we basically just dropped our stuff and had to head to the concert. We were able to wash our hands just fine so we didn't think to mention it that evening. Our issue came in the morning when we had to leave early to head out of town and someone in our room got sick. They didn't make it to the toilet, which was far, but it was coming quick and they turned to the sink. This is where the slow drain became a real issue. I did NOT want to leave that mess for anyone to clean us up except us so I did my absolute due diligence to take care of it myself. It was beyond disgusting but I wanted to do our part to not leave it behind. However, the extremely slow drain caused major issues. At one point, I just had to leave what little was left and made sure to let the person at the front desk know exactly what happened and was very apologetic. His response wasn't the greatest and that's kind of what didn't make this a full 10 for us. He looked at me with a disgusted face and said absolutely nothing. I apologized again because no one wants to clean up someone else's illness but it wasn't intentional by any means.

This is a good clean...

Liked: This is a midway stop for us when we happen to go thru Illinois. We like this place cause it is next to a Cracker Barrel. It’s a little more expensive than the other places we stay at but it’s worth it.

Liked: Excellent location and breakfast! Only reason it is not a 10 was the broken elevator. Beds and sheets were wonderful.
