Holiday Inn Express & Suites Woodside LaGuardia Airport By IHG

First and foremost we were coming from Boston to NY and drove about 3 hours. When we called around 10AM to see if we could get an early check in we were advised that they were booked last night and couldn't accommodate. When we asked if when we got there we were able to see if we could check in early the receptionist advised that early check in would be a $75 fee which we have never heard of. Once we arrived to the hotel around 12:30 we were met with another unpleasant interaction with the front desk staff just flat out telling us we couldn't check in until 3. It was the lack of empathy or customer service that made this an unpleasant interaction. This information was provided in a 'oh well, too bad' manner. We drove around Queens for 3 hours and was finally able to check in. Later that night we were having trouble with the Chromecast feature on the TV and called the front desk to see if there was anything they could do. We were also met with an unpleasant interaction with the front desk saying it doesn't work and has nothing to do with them. We were advised to watch something on TV ( mind you they have the worst channels so there was absolutely nothing to watch) or we could buy a movie. We went to bed. The guy who checked us out was the most pleasant part of our stay. I will never stay here again.

Disliked: Rude front desk staff; nothing on TV and Chromecast didn't work.

Liked: Location was perfect for us. Guest parking was a big plus!
Disliked: Had to ask twice to have the room clock replaced. Also had to ask for a hair dryer. If you don't ask to have your room made up, then no housekeeping service. Found this out the hard way.

Good size and comfortable room...

Liked: The journeyto JFK was not as quick as anticipateddue to traffic. Breakfast was from the box and thus poor. Otherwise all was good.
Disliked: Breakfast quality. Proper eggs and a choice of scrambled or fry would have been nice. The quality of bread again was poor but coffee was good.
