Holiday Inn Express & Suites Woodside LaGuardia Airport By IHG

First and foremost we were coming from Boston to NY and drove about 3 hours. When we called around 10AM to see if we could get an early check in we were advised that they were booked last night and couldn't accommodate. When we asked if when we got there we were able to see if we could check in early the receptionist advised that early check in would be a $75 fee which we have never heard of. Once we arrived to the hotel around 12:30 we were met with another unpleasant interaction with the front desk staff just flat out telling us we couldn't check in until 3. It was the lack of empathy or customer service that made this an unpleasant interaction. This information was provided in a 'oh well, too bad' manner. We drove around Queens for 3 hours and was finally able to check in. Later that night we were having trouble with the Chromecast feature on the TV and called the front desk to see if there was anything they could do. We were also met with an unpleasant interaction with the front desk saying it doesn't work and has nothing to do with them. We were advised to watch something on TV ( mind you they have the worst channels so there was absolutely nothing to watch) or we could buy a movie. We went to bed. The guy who checked us out was the most pleasant part of our stay. I will never stay here again.

The staff displayed remarkable friendliness and helpfulness throughout my stay.However, I encountered a minor inconvenience when the shower in my room became clogged. I promptly contacted the front desk, and their prompt and professional response was greatly appreciated.The exceptional service extended to my family’s breakfast, which they thoroughly enjoyed. While I was unable to partake, my family’s satisfaction was evident.Overall, I was so impressed with my stay that I wanted to extend my stay by an additional night.
