Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Atlanta Downtown

Room was smaller than in most HIE but adequate for the two of us for a short stay. Excellent service though.

Liked: Excellent service and very clean and pleasant.
Disliked: If you're a light sleeper, the street noise will bother you. Bring a fan or something to drown out the noise.

Lost reservation & locked out...

Liked: The room (when they finally put us in the room we'd paid for) was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of space. The daily breakfast was far better than most hotels offer. If you're planning to visit downtown Atlanta, this property is a short walk (less than 10 minutes) from many attractions, such as the College Football Hall of Fame, Olympic Park, World of Coca-Cola, etc.
Disliked: Our reservation through booking.com couldn't be found, so we were told it would be disregarded and we'd have to book directly thorough the hotel. I can't be the only person to book through booking.com for a stay at this Holiday Inn, but they acted like they'd never had to deal with an online booking. I booked a suite, but they stuck us in a regular room. I went down to the front desk to show the original booking info, and they moved us to a suite. Much improved, though the tv has a permanent blue line running down the center of the picture.My biggest complaint is that we asked for a late checkout time, and it was seemingly approved. I was staying at the property while in town for a work conference, which was scheduled to end 1 hour after checkout time, though I had no control over when it would actually end. One hour after normal checkout time, they deactivated our room keys, so while my mother was trying to take luggage downstairs, she was locked out of both the room AND the elevator, while our belongings and her phone were locked inside the room. She was stuck on our floor for over half an hour before an employee came by, who refused to let her back into the room. They finally got approval to let her into the room to get her phone, and she called me, to leave my conference early and come back. We got our belongings and left the hotel. I had another stay booked here for an upcoming trip in a few months, but I've canceled it and won't be back.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay!

Liked: I was genuinely surprised by how clean and well-maintained the room was—it exceeded my expectations! The location is perfect, close to everything I needed, yet peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was tasty and satisfying, with a good variety to choose from. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
