Holiday Inn Express St. Augustine Dtwn - Historic By IHG

We arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon which was a little early. The policy states check in is at 3:00. After driving 7 hours we had rather hoped to be able to shower and change clothes and then have a nice dinner in the area before the concert. We ended up coming back to to hotel at 5:00 and the room was still not ready. We had to wait until 5:30 for the room to be ready. The concert started at 6:30. I was not happy with this late check in time and will not stay at Sleep Inn again. I will choose another motel closer to the beach next time.

Comfortable stay and helpful staff

Liked: We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. We especially want to thank the receptionist Marina, who was very helpful in showing us where everything is and also understood how to handle the personal tax exemption process.
Disliked: We gave one star less for the location, as it’s not possible to get to the city center or the ocean on foot — you need a car to get around.

Liked: It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. It was easy to get to and easy to check in.
Disliked: The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish there were blackout curtains on the window. It was difficult to sleep a full night because of the light through the window.

Liked: Good location, clean facility,etc
Disliked: Low privacy. You can hear all that is happening in the next room. The double doors between rooms must be sealed somehow. We had to hear an unwanted sex activity at 2am on Sunday morning. Even the conversation between them was clearly heard.

Disliked: We cleaned our own room and had to request trash bags. We had to request towels daily and only saw housekeeping in our room once out of our 5 day stay.
