Holiday Inn Express Southampton - M27 J7

Liked: Friendly staff; easy to park; made to feel welcome; nice rooms; good breakfast.
Disliked: None.

Booked a double bed room - had double bed and sofa bed made up so no room to move. They did take it down eventually. Breakfast was called an economical breakfast as they were busy - no fried eggs! Premier Inn is much much better value. Was horrendous - £250 just to sleep. Never again.

Liked: Great location close by to the city for work purposes, it's about a 15 minute drive from Ocean Village and has parking on site
Disliked: It was difficult to find a parking space, the car park was very full, I had to wait for someone to leave so that I could park and check in.

Disliked: We were not told on booking that there was a cricket match England v West Indies the evening of our stay, right next door, in the Ultima Bowl. Having paid for 24 hrs parking, when we returned early evening to the Inn, we were caught in a mammoth traffic jam because of the 1000s of spectators and motorists trying to access the area, and all parking spaces were taken, despite having paid in advance.I'd asked for a twin bedded room as I was sharing with a friend, but this hadn't been acknowledged. We were given a room with an extra put-you-up. She had a lovely soft double bed to herself, with a mattress topper, but I had a pull out sofa zed-bed with a thin foam mattress which was neither comfortable nor breathable, so I was baking hot and didn't get a decent night's sleep. .

Liked: The convenience of the location. It was suitable for our needs.
Disliked: The scrum at breakfast and lack of staff to clear tables for others to sit at. Limited evening menu.

room cost was more expensive...

Liked: room had everything i needed , no issues of complaints , first time in a Holiday inn express , and would use again
Disliked: having to pay additional for car parking , should be included as part of the stay

I will stay there again.
